Lesson 17

Public transport stops and minibuses

How to drive near buses, trolleybuses, minibuses and pedestrians stepping onto the road.

Public transport stops and minibuses

A public transport stop is a high-risk area: people may step out from behind a bus, and a minibus may move or stop suddenly.

The driver reduces speed, increases side clearance and watches pedestrians near doors, roadside and crossings.

In Dnipro this is especially important because of dense traffic and stops close to intersections.

How we train this in class
  • break the rule down on a clear diagram
  • reinforce it with test questions
  • move the situation to a real Dnipro route
